Jane has extensive experience permitting and auditing of mines and a thorough understanding of environmental, social and governance (ESG) concepts and standards. She has a high level of interest in legislation pertinent to ESG and mining, supporting achievement of compliance with legal obligations and assisting clients to gain and maintain social licence to operate.
Most of Jane’s 28 years of mining industry experience has been gained in Africa, Europe and Central Asia. Her experience extends to infrastructure projects, including dams and linear infrastructure. To date, she has worked on over 35 mine ESIAs and she has led or managed half of these ESIAs. She has also overseen audits of over 100 mines.
New ESG disclosure requirements in the new CRIRSCO template
The new CRIRSCO template reflects the rising interest of investors in environmental, social and governance (ESG). This talk highlights increased ESG disclosures (sustainability) that will need to be made when the template is transposed into codes for reporting mineral resources and reserves. These disclosures are compared with current KAZRC requirements, changing stock exchange disclosure requirements across the globe and information used by agencies rating the ESG performance of mining companies and operations globally.
