Optimal resource development through effective project decisions

With commodity prices reaching highs last seen during the previous supercycle in the 2000’s, we are faced with the need to balance optimal project development with efficient and effective decision making to ensure that we extract the maximum long-term financial benefit from our projects. This paper will examine the strengths and weaknesses of our project pipeline approach and will address the additional complexities that we are facing, particularly with respect to ESG, which impact on our decisions. The role of biases will be examined in the processes, with respect to ESG issues, and how we should overcome them.
